politics and Tony

I have known Tony and Terry for over ten years now. We met through the Liberal Democrats. Tony was always such a caring and thoughtful man with a good sense of humour. I spent many days out canvassing for him when he stood as a county council candidate in 2005. He would knock on the door and then declaim loudly 'Are there any Liberals in the House?' A new appraoch which often made people open up to him and talk about themselves and their views. The first time he was elected to Bridport town council he stood in a by election. He agreed to stand and then went on holiday for two weeks. We canvassed on his behalf and he won the once safe labour seat in bridport North. His smiling fave on the Leaflets was enough for people to trust him and vote for him. I am sure not only his family but all Bridport town will miss him and be a worse place for him having passed away. Gill Fifield
