Reminiscences

I first met Tony through a mutual friend, Arthur Little, back in the early '60s when I was trying to adjust to life ashore. He had already left the sea and was in the marine paints business. I don't think I have ever met anyone who could come out with a quick quip the way he could! And that laugh! I can still hear it today. We formed a lasting friendship and he took over from me in the marine pyrotechnic business some ten years later - and as a result met Terry, so I suppose I'm sort of to blame for that. They both came to my surprise 70th which was a lovely surprise, and then I'm so glad that I got down to Dorset last September to see them both, and again a few weeks later at Whitstable. Tony, you brought joy and laughter to so many; I treasure the memory and thank God for having known you.
